چکیده

Common engineering approaches and modeling approaches from software engineering are brought together. For the domain of process automation an implementation oriented approach for an object oriented software development for heterogeneous distributed systems is introduced. Model elements for control are added to UML as well as small-scale patterns for plant automation. Besides large-scale patterns are introduced as well as implementational models. The adoption of UML regarding applied diagrams and stereotypes for process automation will be introduced and evaluated. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

Evaluation of an UML Software Engineering Tool by Means of a Distributed Real Time Application in Process Automation

Today the development of software in process automation is a step by step strategy along the life cycle with different notations and different tools. The requirement analysis and the basic engineering could be described and structured with project management software using natural language. The software design is mostly function oriented and component based with IEC 61131-3 development environm...

LQN-Based Performance Evaluation Framework of UML-Based Models for Distributed Object Applications

Software Performance Engineering (SPE) has a great impact on software life cycle. A great effort had been introduced in this area. Automation degree of transformation and evaluation process, standardization degree, and performance parameters evaluated represent a big challenge for SPE. This paper presents an XSLTbased framework to overcome these challenges. This framework transforms Unified Mod...

Introducing a Uml Profile For

Distributed system configuration consists of distributed application component placement and underlying network design, thus is a complex process dealing with interrelated issues. A four-stage methodology has been proposed in order to effectively explore configuration problems. A common metamodel for distributed system representation in all configuration stages is thus required, so that unclear...

From function-driven Systems Engineering to

This paper describes a model-based system and software development process that combines both function-driven systems engineering and object oriented software engineering. The key part of this "Integrated Process" is the "Bridge" between the two paradigms. Tools chosen to demonstrate the Integrated Process are the I-Logix tools Statemate Magnum, for the function-driven systems engineering, and...

From UML to ANSI-C - An Eclipse-Based Code Generation Framework

Model-driven engineering has recently gained broad acceptance in the field of embedded and real-time software systems. While larger embedded and real-time systems, developed e.g. in aerospace, telecommunication, or automotive industry, are quite well supported by model-driven engineering approaches based on the UML, small embedded and real-time systems, as they can for example be found in the i...
